In this video, I open up about my experience with an eating disorder as a man—something rarely talked about and often misunderstood. Eating disorders don’t have a “look”, they don`t only affect women and the way media portrays them can be incredibly invalidating.
I share how childhood trauma, bullying, internalized homophobia, and perfectionism shaped my relationship with food, my body, and my identity. I talk about how numbing myself from emotions led me into disordered behaviors, isolation, and eventually a full-blown eating disorder.
Admitting I had a problem was the first step. Recovery has been messy, slow, and painful at times—but also the most rewarding thing I’ve done. If you’re struggling, I hope my story helps you feel seen and reminds you that you deserve support, understanding, and a chance at a full life.
