ED Coach Meal Support Sessions
Service Description
What to Expect in Meal Support Sessions Facing Challenging Foods — Together In our meal sessions, I’ll support you as you face challenging or fear foods by eating alongside you, so you never have to face them alone. I’ll hold space for any emotions that come up, and we’ll move through the stress and anxiety the situation may bring at a pace that feels safe for you. Quieting the Eating Disorder Voice Together, we’ll practice talking back to the eating disorder voice in your mind and replacing it with more compassionate, grounded, and empowering self-talk. These sessions are designed to help you feel calmer, more supported during meals. Building Confidence With Fear Foods The goal of challenging fear foods is not to force you to eat them all the time. Instead, it’s about helping you develop the ability to eat them when life requires it — such as at social events, restaurants, holidays, or situations where there are limited options. This flexibility increases your confidence and reduces the power the eating disorder has over your daily life. Finding Balance With Food Rules You don’t have to give up all structure around food. Many people feel safer with some level of routine, and that’s okay. The aim is to help you become more flexible with your rules so they no longer feel rigid, overwhelming, or driven by fear. Over time, you’ll learn how to maintain structure while still allowing yourself choice, freedom, and variety.
